These works on paper come out of several years on a deep dive into color, the origins of pigments and color theory. Oxides, are one of the oldest pigments available and provide a wonderful range of warm tones you see here from soft yellow to purple into blacks. The blue is inspired by indigo a plant based color that has a deep history world wide in dye. This dye was developing in several cultures around the globe simultaneously as if mother earth said we need blue.
